Three months since I posted...
I owe you all an apology.
When I started this blog I was intending on writing at least one post a month, hopefully more, and I had every intention of doing so. I even got ahead of myself and wrote three posts in December, because that's the kind of person that I am.
But then February was tough - I was waiting on writing a post about hats until I had pictures, for which I had to complete a set and it took much longer than I expected. (Actually, it still isn't finished - I've dealt with my frustration about this by hiding it in one of my WIP boxes with a blanket on top of it. Because I'm an adult like that.)
Then I didn't crochet for several weeks due to having pain in my right wrist that was stopping me from working. I've now figured out what the cause of that pain was: the hooks with shaped handles that I was using. This is a sad state of affairs as I really love the hooks with handles - they're so pretty.
As you can see, they're lovely. The mushroom one at the bottom is part of a set of three which my husband bought for me as a birthday gift! But alas, I can no longer use them because of the angle I twist my wrist at when I do. The round handles ones or unhandled ones are much easier on my wrist, because I tend to roll them between my fingers rather than twisting my wrist to work the stitches. Therefore, I've made the sad, but necessary, decision to sell these ones. I'm sure they'll make someone else a happy crocheter :)
Anyway, stopping using those hooks whenever I worked suddenly and miraculously (!!) stopped my pain in its tracks, and I was back to crocheting whenever I fancied.
Of course, in that time, I'd completely forgotten that I'd started a blog...
*pulls a sheepish face*
I only remembered I had it when I was struck with the sudden urge to make tiny Christmas lights this week (yes yes, I know, it's April, too early, stoppit, etc) and then was asked if I had a pattern for what I'd done.
A pattern, thinks I! I could write a blog post about that.... *
Oh....
Oops.
So. Apologies. With cocoa powder dusted on the top and a glass of something bubbly.
I will endeavour to do better. However, as clearly evidenced by the existence of this post, there's every chance that that will not happen. I make no promises.
*If you're not too offended by the C word when spring has only just got started, the pattern for the lights is here.
